Participants will get the opportunity to work on real projects alongside industry experts. Eligibility for attachments with a Hosting Company for the programme will be contingent on the participant’s performance during the interview and selection process.

    • Successful participants are entitled to 5 days of paid annual leave during the course of the training program. Annual leave is only applicable, after the completion of a minimum of 3 months of training. Any leave application shall be made to the Hosting Company per their leave guidelines, rules and/or policies and shall be subject to the Hosting Company’s approval.

    • Successful participants are entitled to 10 days of paid sick leave during the course of the training program, subject to conditions stipulated by the Ministry of Manpower that applies to new hires. Successful participants must have completed at least 3 months of training to be entitled to paid sick leave. Unutilised paid annual and/or paid medical leave cannot be cashed out or used as part of the notice period.

    • Unpaid leave may be applicable for paternity/maternity / national service duties / other absences on a case-by-case basis, determined by the Hosting Company. For all such leave, participants would need to inform the Hosting Company at least 1 month in advance

    • For NS duties, documentary proof is required and must be provided at least 2 months in advance. Time off from on-the-job training (OJT) for national service duties will be treated as an unpaid leave of absence and training allowance will be pro-rated to exclude the duration of such absence. As participants are not an employee, they are not entitled to paid leave of absence to perform national service duties during OJT and may not utilise paid annual leave to go for NS duties. Participants would instead receive rank pay from MINDEF.

    • For such absences, if the request is approved, WSG and the Hosting Company may at their discretion: (1) defer the OJT for the duration of the absence and halt payment of training allowance until the resumption of OJT; or (2) if WSG/ host company does not defer the OJT, training allowance will be pro-rated to exclude the duration of participants’ absence.

  • Participants should extend a copy of all approved leave applications to SFA for official records. The notice should reach SFA at least 1 week before the leave begins.

The 6-month on-the-job training attachment is a mandatory component of the FinTech Talent programme thus, participants will be unable to opt out of the attachment.
However, under the circumstance whereby participants are hired before the start of the attachment, they will not have to proceed with the attachment.

The FinTech Talent Programme works with top-tier companies within the industry and positions are specially curated by the team. However, it is not mandatory to take up job offers with any of the Hosting Companies.
